NEW ENERGY COMMUNITIES
An innovative decentralized model
Clara Santamaria (Cluster Manager at SOLARTYS) and David González (Project manager at ITCL) talk about the relevance of an innovative energy ecosystem, made possible thanks to local cooperation between neighbors, companies and public entities.
We talked about the importance of promoting Energy Communities as a tool to achieve a new decentralized, fair, renewable energy model, an example of the integration needed to address current challenges and a decisive step forward to meet the decarbonization agreements adopted by the Spanish state for the year 2050.
DEMOCRATIZATION OF ENERGY:
Real citizen participation
José Antonio Marín (Business Development Manager at Sistem) and Juan Manuel Rodríguez (Manager of GISA) introduce us to the ways to promote the real participation of citizens in the energy system, as prosumers, with a leading role in decision-making, through the democratization of the energy sector and local energy sovereignty.
Thestrengthening of individuals and organizations implies the incorporation of a greater number of participants and the development of innovative ways of interaction. The fusion of different energy-related technologies (in terms of energy production, use and management) represents a challenge, while at the same time a horizon of new technological and commercial opportunities is emerging.
CLIMATE EMERGENCY AND ECO-SOCIAL CRISIS
Energy has a plan
José Antonio Marín (Business Development Manager at Sistem) and Clara Santamaria (Cluster Manager at Solartys) share their views on initiatives to boost the demand for renewable energies, efficiency and conscious consumption, to mitigate the consequences of the climate emergency and promote the resilience of the territories in the face of the eco-social crisis.
Energy Communities introduce a renewed perspective on energy production and consumption, setting the tone for the exploration of new avenues and adjustments.
VALUE-ADDED ENERGY:
Energy communities that generate wealth
Juan Manuel Rodríguez (Manager of GISA) and David González (Project Manager at ITCL) show us the capacity of Energy Communities to generate quality employment without a gender gap, especially in areas with depopulation problems, as well as their potential to combat energy poverty.
It is necessary to promote public initiatives so that City Councils are the main driving forces in the creation of Energy Communities and that local sources of financing are put in place, accessible to neighbors and companies interested in community projects.
